Answer

That is a serious situation to be in. Here are some resources that can help you get immediate assistance and more long-term assistance:

Call 211 and they will help connect you with essential community services such as housing assistance, food pantries, mental health care, and other resources that can help you get back on your feet. Essentially, it works like 911 but for non-emergency social service needs, with trained staff assessing your situation and directing you to the appropriate help in your area.

You can also go to the 211.org website to get more information, or read the brochure at https://www.fcc.gov/sites/default/files/dial_211_for_essential_community_services.pdf

The U.S. Fire Administration has more specific information on what to do after a fire: https://www.usfa.fema.gov/downloads/pdf/publications/fa_46.pdf

To obtain assistance on a more long-term basis, go to https://www.usa.gov/benefits to find out which federal and state government benefits program you may be eligible for and how to apply for them.

I hope this information is helpful. If this is not what you need, or if there is any other way we can assist, please let us know.
