Where are my stimulus payments?

Where are my stimulus payments?
I am a "no filer". I never received any of my three checks.

Answer

Thank you for your question.

The IRS provides the following information about Coronavirus Tax Relief and Economic Impact Payments:

The IRS has issued all first, second and third Economic Impact Payments.

Most eligible people already received their Economic Impact Payments. People who are missing a stimulus payment or got less than the full amount may be eligible to claim a Recovery Rebate Credit on their 2020 or 2021 federal tax return. Note that "you must file a return to claim the credit, even if you don't usually file a tax return."

  • The first and second rounds of Economic Impact Payments were advance payments of the 2020 Recovery Rebate Credit claimed on a 2020 tax return. They were issued in 2020 and early 2021.
  • The third round of Economic Impact Payments, including the plus-up payments, were advance payments of the 2021 Recovery Rebate Credit claimed on a 2021 tax return. It was issued starting in March 2021 and continued through December 2021.

People who are missing stimulus payments should review the information on the Recovery Rebate Credit page to determine their eligibility and to claim the credit for tax year 2020 or 2021. https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/recovery-rebate-credit

Securely access your IRS online account to view the total of your first, second and third Economic Impact Payment amounts under the Tax Records page. You can no longer use the Get My Payment application to check your payment status. If you don't already have an IRS online account, there will be instructions on how to set one up. https://www.irs.gov/payments/your-online-account
