Help finding Supreme Court Justice Sotomayor Speech

Help finding Supreme Court Justice Sotomayor Speech
I'm struggling to find a speech given by Sonia Sotomayor on March 19, 1994, called "A Judge’s Guide to Effective Advocacy"

The speech text was formerly at this link: http://www.judiciary.senate.gov/nominations/SupremeCourt/Sotomayor/upload/Question-12-d-No-6-3-19-94-National-Law-Review-Conference.pdf

I'm attempting to find the original source for this quote: "If you have read Strunk and White, Elements of Style, reread it every two years. If you have never read it, do so now. This book is only 77 pages and it manages, succinctly, precisely and elegantly to convey the essence of good writing. Go back and read a couple of basic grammar books. Most people never go back to basic principles of grammar after their first six years in elementary school. Each time I see a split infinitive, an inconsistent tense structure or the unnecessary use of the passive voice, I blister. These are basic errors that with self-editing, more often than not, are avoidable."

Answer

Thank you for your question. I was not able to find the document on the current website for the Committee on the Judiciary, but I used your link and found it on the Internet Archives Wayback Machine at https://web.archive.org/web/20090628152332/http://www.judiciary.senate.gov/nominations/SupremeCourt/Sotomayor/upload/Question-12-d-No-6-3-19-94-National-Law-Review-Conference.pdf

The links on the Wayback Machine were all broken also except for the earliest two, from June 2009. It seems to have been removed from the later versions of the site, perhaps for copyright reasons.

The link above goes to the full text of the speech, and the quote you cited starts on page 8. I have also attached a PDF of the speech to this response.

I hope this information  is helpful. If this is not what you need, or if you should require any further assistance, please let us know.
